Creative response
Six website design comps, all dated 3 December 2013, for the Financial Reporting Council:
- Home, the entry template.
- Media, the news and press template.
- Conference 1 and Conference 2, two treatments of the event pages.
- Resources, the document and publication template.
- Contact, the endpoint.

Which six templates get comped tells you what a site is actually for. Home, Media, Resources and Contact is the standard spine of a regulator's site: an entry point, a news channel, a document library and a route in. The interesting inclusion is that two of the six are conference pages, a signal that events were a first-class part of the FRC's public-facing output rather than a subsection of news.
Two conference treatments rather than one also indicates a live design decision still being resolved at the comp stage: an option being presented for a choice, not a single route being asserted.
Design and production. before launching its digital and creative department, December 2013 sits at the front of that build-out, which is consistent with a web design and production commission of this scale being run out of the same function.
