Carole Anne's Ironing Plan
An ironing service, a website, a character called the Iron Woman, and a film. The smallest client on this wall, run by family, treated exactly like the largest.
Objective
A one-person ironing business needs the same things a bank does: a name people remember, a way to be found, and a reason to be chosen over the competitor two streets away. It has none of the budget.
Small local services usually end up with a clipart iron and a phone number. The opportunity was to give this one an actual idea.
Creative response
Brand character, website and social identity, the full small-business set.
- The Iron Woman. A brand character built for the business, developed in InDesign
- A website. Built in Adobe Muse
- Social identity. Facebook cover and profile artwork as a matched set
- Character assets. Supporting illustration for use across the identity

Results
A superhero conceit for an ironing service is the right answer to a small budget: it gives a sole trader something to be remembered by, which no amount of tidy typography would.
