A charitable foundation turning five. A list of achievements, turned into a two-minute film and an infographic, and the design problem is not letting the good news flatten into a list.
Objective
The Columbia Threadneedle Foundation invests in communities through partnerships intended to create social impact. In 2019 it reached its fifth birthday.
Anniversary content has a specific failure mode: it becomes a list of numbers nobody reads, because everything in it is good news and good news has no tension. The brief was to turn a list of achievements into something with a shape.
Creative response
Script, storyboard, animation and infographic. Both deliverables were produced from the Foundation’s own list of achievements.

Published on the Foundation's website and distributed across the wider Columbia Threadneedle organisation, which is the useful detail, because internal distribution inside an asset manager is how a foundation gets its own staff to care about it.
