ASEAN-EU Business Summit
A 52-page programme for the 4th ASEAN-EU Business Summit, August 2015: introduction, messages, foreword and paid advertising, set as one document.
Creative response
A 52-page brochure and programme for the 4th ASEAN-EU Business Summit 2015, dated August 2015.
Its structure is the structure of a summit document: an introduction, a set of messages from participating figures, a foreword, and the programme content itself, carried alongside paid advertising placements, including Prudential on the inside front cover.
Brochure PDF design, the design and setting of the full 52-page document.
Copy, contributor messages and the programme itself came from the summit organisers. The design job was to hold all of it in one consistent object.
Why 52 pages is the hard part
A summit programme is one of the least forgiving document formats there is. It carries several classes of content that do not want to sit together, institutional forewords, contributor messages, session listings and commercial advertising, and every one of them arrives from a different source, at a different time, in a different format.
Advertising placement makes it harder again. Paid pages have to land in agreed positions (an inside front cover is a sold position, not a design choice) without the reader experiencing the document as a magazine with a programme inside it. Fifty-two pages of that, to a fixed event date, is the deliverable.
