Objective

For a band, the Wikipedia entry is often the first thing a journalist, promoter or booker reads. It is also the one page the band cannot simply write, because it belongs to an editorial community with its own rules about sourcing and tone.

Getting it accurate and properly sourced is a real discipline, and getting it wrong is worse than leaving it alone.
